Mud Run has evolved! The fastest growing Mud Run in the country has just completed its biggest ever Fall 10th Anniversary edition and we are happy to announce that the Spring Challenge Race is set for Sunday, April 11th. Our Fall race was phenomenal! The response was amazing and the race was the best and biggest race ever where participation almost doubled. Now we move onto the Spring event to start our year where there will be a series of 7 races held throughout the country. We kick of the year with a March 20th race in Jacksonville, FL. This race was phenomenal last year in its inaugural year. Set the date for April 11th, 2010, 9:00 am start in Fort Worth on the Trinity River Trail for the big Spring Challenge. More competition, more team unity, more team building experience, more athletes and prize money! Of course the race is really for that person who just wants to challenge themselves. So, even if you don't want to throw your hat in the ring for prize money, throw it in for pride or just set a goal to see if you can accomplish what few can! You can even try just wearing a great costume in the DGAP division! Call your friends, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, challenge your office, club or church. Get your high school involved. Challenge your fraternity or sorority from another school. We guarantee the mud....you bring the courage!
Mud Run is a combination of regular citizens, Civil Servants, companies, teams, colleges and some military personnel competing together through a series of boot camp styled obstacles that have been surrounded by (or consist entirely of) mud. The race is 10K and it is unique to the world of adventure racing. This is definitely not something you could set up in your backyard. Our last event brought the entire community of the DFW Metroplex together and Jacksonville, FL was no different. Our 10th Anniversary event in DFW was the biggest ever. People cheered as teams of contestants slipped, slid, and sloshed their way to victory. This Mud Run is expected to be even bigger but will be limited to the first 4000 participants and now has a new category for "anything goes" fun runners called DGAP. This years event has also grown in scope to include displays for food vendors, entertainment and is open to the public to not only participate in but to view as spectators. It is a unique experience whether running or watching! It should be fun for the whole family.
Why do we have a Mud Run Challenge?
There are 5 categories of 5 Person teams: All-Male, All-Female, Co-Ed (at least one member must be opposite sex), Uniformed Services (firefighters, police, game warden, military, ROTC, etc.) and Corporate teams (a great team-building experience)
OUR NEWEST DIVISION IS A HIT! ....DGAP - ANYTHING GOES AND THERE IS NO DISQUALIFICATION FOR TEAM SIZE, ATTIRE OR TEAM COMPLETION (WE RECOMMEND LONG PANTS AND SHOES COVERING ANKLE).
There are also 2 categories for individuals (Male and Female). No age group categories exist. Each team member runs the entire course. Prices for individual and team sign-ups are listed on the Mud Run's official website: www.mudrundfw.com. Also, on-line registration is available via www.active.com.
